At St Martins School, we believe that strong family partnerships are key to a child’s success and wellbeing.
If you, your child or family needs some support, you can speak with any of our staff. Mrs Jones is always on the gate in primary and our reception staff are always happy to have a chat or point you in the direction of further support if you need it.
We are free to listen, to refer you to trusted local services, support financially or help navigate complex situations every step of the way. With open communication, a caring ethos, and a network of resources, we ensure every family feels heard, respected, and supported within our school community.

How can school help?
We can support families by working with our specialist partners or by offering support to children and families directly within school.
We can:
- Look at specific programmes to support children’s academic gaps in knowledge. Please see your child’s class teacher in the first instance.
- Look at specific programmes to support children’s wellbeing, anxiety, physical needs, sensory needs and behavioural challenges. We run pastoral interventions and can support children and families to meet the needs of children. Please see your child’s class teacher in the first instance.
- Refer families to the school nursing team for a range of needs. Please see Mandi Jones or Emma Pickering for further information.
- Refer families to the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) in North Shropshire. They can provide a range of bespoke support for families with trained professionals to work with children and families who may be experiencing anxiety, stress or behavioural challenges. mandi Jones is our Mental Health lead and can support with any queries about this service. Please see Mandi or your child’s class teacher in the first instance.
- Refer children to the Bee U service for specialist team support referrals and diagnosis seeking referrals.
